About Commissioner Joseph V. Romano
Joseph V. Romano was first elected to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners in 2016 for the 2017-2018 term; he has since be re-elected to serve for the 2019-20 term. He represents the 4th district covering the Southern part of Sterling Heights.
Commissioner Romano has been a Real Estate Broker for over 40 years and is also a Licensed Insurance Agent. He served on the Sterling Heights City Council for 19 years. There he served on the Board of Review, Board of Ordinance, and the Board of Zoning Appeals. While on council he proudly introduced and passed the Medical Transport for the Sterling Heights Fire Department and the ban on sky lanterns.
Commissioner Romano is focused on improving Macomb County’s roads. As a veteran who spent six years as a Medical Corpsman in the Army National Guard, he also wants to work with the Department of Health and Community Services and the VA to improve the quality of service for veterans.
He and his wife Sharon have three children and ten grandchildren. He has been an NRA member for over 40 years.
